Signs of poor home air quality
There are several ways that you can tell that the air quality in your home is poor. The following are the most common signs of air quality issues:

  • Health problems – If you or anyone in your home is experiencing allergies that worsen when you are indoors, then there’s a good chance it’s due to the quality of your air. Anyone with asthma or respiratory issues that is having worse than usual symptoms could be experiencing those symptoms as a result of poor air quality.
  • Poor ventilation – If your home doesn’t have proper ventilation, it could result in poor air quality. Looking for signs of poor ventilation isn’t too difficult. You’ll often find moisture condensation on your walls or windows, the air may smell or be stuffy and your HVAC equipment could be more dusty than usual.
  • Other sources of poor air quality – Dirt, dust and debris all cause poor air quality as they can build up in your air ducts, thereby polluting your air. If you don’t obtain air duct cleaning services, it will affect your air quality. Cleaning on a regular basis is even more important if you have pets, since they often give off hair and dander.

How to improve your air quality
Once you figure out that your air quality is poor and you have a good idea of what the source is, you’ll want to do what you can to improve the air quality. Improving the ventilation may be necessary. You can do this by adding fans in the kitchen and bathrooms. You’ll also want to invest in air duct cleaning services to prevent dust and debris from circulating throughout your home’s air.

Keep your home and air ducts clean to prevent poor air quality.
